``THE FUTILE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS"

In "The futile pursuit of happiness" by: Jon Gertner Daniel Gilbert states his ideas and opinions of what happiness is, the most interested thing that caught my eyes was the impact bias, it’s when we predict how we will feel about certain things in the future and the how we end up feeling differently when they actually happen. Living in New York many people believe in the impact bias and very much believe that material things can make them happy.
I myself believe in the impact bias , Not only because I live in new York and its consider a place where anything is possible but because when I was high school I was surround by a bunch of teenagers who believe life is about clothes and sneakers. Just because everyone had name brand clothes, I watch as people who didn’t have what everyone else was wearing get pick on, bully and even abuse it lead most children in high school to believe that if they didn’t get what everyone was wearing they won’t be happy or not a part of the "in crowd" although some of them did get the clothes that still didn’t make them change and in the end realize that material things didn’t change the way they feel.
Another type of happiness that caught my eye was that, Dan Gilbert stated that Natural Happiness is when we’re happy because we got what we wanted. It’s comes unexpectedly. I believe in natural happiness because many times in my life I have experience it. For example one time me and my cousin were sitting on the bus and I spotted a new ipod touch on the floor of course I was happy and new ipod touch for free that I wanted .I waited for everybody to leave the bus and nobody head was wobbling looking for a ipod I was so happy to fine a brand new ipod that why I believe in natural happiness it happen so unexpectedly.
Dan Gilbert was right “What is happiness” we can’t really say they are many different point of views towards happiness.
